About Linda Jane
A lifetime of sewing, creating, working hard, and passing useful skills to the next generation.

Creativity runs in the family
Evie is nine years old and already shares her grandmother’s love of making things. She enjoys watching crafting videos on YouTube and discovering new ideas she can try for herself.
When Evie was six, I told her I was making a little surprise for her. To my amazement, she already knew exactly what I was creating. When I asked how she knew, she explained that she had learned about it by watching crafting channels on YouTube. That moment showed me just how curious, observant, and creative she had already become.
Evie is an important part of Linda & Evie’s Academy and a wonderful reminder that the love of crafting can be shared from one generation to the next.
Where my story began
I was born in Vermont and raised in Ashuelot, New Hampshire. My parents owned the Ashuelot Country Store. With only 303 people in town, being the store owner’s daughter meant I knew nearly everyone. It was a small community where people shared stories, helped one another, and learned practical skills by spending time together.
Saturday afternoons with Great-Aunt Vena
My Great-Aunt Vena taught me to sew when I was 10 years old. We worked on her old treadle Singer sewing machine, and she taught me how to create without depending on patterns. Those Saturday afternoons were filled with laughter, patience, kindness, and the joy of making something with my own hands. Aunt Vena gave me the foundation for a lifetime of sewing.
Thirty-five years on the road
Before building the Academy, I spent 35 years as a tractor-trailer driver. That career taught me determination, independence, attention to detail, and the importance of explaining things clearly—qualities I now bring to every lesson I create.
My family
I am the mother of two sons, Michael and Tommy, and the grandmother of six granddaughters. Family is at the heart of why I want these skills to continue from one generation to the next.

More than sewing
My creative life also includes stained glass, woodworking, crocheting, knitting, photography, and many other crafts. I believe the best knowledge is knowledge that is shared.
Keeping traditional skills alive
Fewer children have someone nearby to teach them homemade skills. My mission is to share what I have learned, teach others with patience, and help these skills continue into future generations. Linda & Evie’s Academy is a place to learn, create, grow, and pass something meaningful forward.
